Here on the farm, we have the unique opportunity in this day and age to stay so closely tied to the seasons. As the days elongate and the field bursts with energy, so too must we. Now, as the daylight hours crawl into bed earlier and the fields hunker down for the winter, we find ourselves nestling in with a blanket or two, admiring a winter sunset early in the evening. Winter is the time of year to nourish our bodies and our families while preserving, preparing, and sharing what we grew throughout the warmer months. The best way to experience and share good daily health throughout the winter is by exploring herbal medicine.

Much like life here at Chickahominy Falls, there are some cars that only get better with age. That’s why this Saturday's Pop-Up event is inspired by one of our very own tenets. The Classic Car Display is inviting the Central Virginia British Car Club to showcase some of their very best. This Pop-Up will also feature BoomTown Radio for some rockin' tunes and giveaways. Join us on Saturday, September 17th from 10 am-2 pm
As the heat and humidity slowly roll across the piedmont region of Virginia, okra and green bean plants seem to wake up (even though all the heat and humidity ever seem to do for me is make me sleepy). As these two plants chug along into late summer/early fall, we tend to experience a temporary glut of greenery. So what do you do with all of these extra summer gifts?
