Q&A

Q: How is Woodside Farms related to Chickahominy Falls?

A: The 10 acre heart and soul of  Chickahominy Falls, Woodside Farms is a four-season, professionally managed farm that grows a curated mix of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers for the homeowners of Chickahominy Falls.  Woodside Farms also includes The Barn, the social and educational hub of the community.  The Barn features a chef’s kitchen designed for 5-star cooking demonstrations and community events, plus a large event lawn, with plenty of space to gather inside and out. Woodside Farms is a distinct amenity for the Chickahominy Falls community but is separate from the Community HOA as it is owned and managed privately.

Q: Are Woodside Farms and The Barn open to the public or only Chickahominy Falls residents?

A: While we are committed to serving the Chickahominy Falls community, the farm and barn are also open to the public. Chickahominy Falls residents will receive discounts on produceworkshops & classes, and facility rental.

Q: Who manages Woodside Farms?

A: Woodside Farms is professionally managed by Sean Shepperd, the farm manager. He oversees the greenhouse, fields, and all the details in between. Learn more about Woodside Farms here.

Q: What produce do you grow?

A: All kinds! From kale and lettuce to potatoes and peppers. We have a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and cut flowers! We also have a wide variety of other local vendors and makers whose products we stock. See our “What We Offer” page for a detailed list!

Q: Do you have a CSA/Farm Share program? How does it work?

A: We invite you to participate in our buyer’s program by pre-paying for your produce up-front, in exchange for a discount on all specified market items correlating with the amount you pre-pay. Pre-paying helps the farm better prepare for the produce needs of its community. The best part? There aren’t any expiration dates on credits. As long as The Woodside Market is open, you can shop there! Please always reach out with any questions you may have! Learn more about Farm Shares here.
