Sweet Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Home

With the cooler temperatures of February, it’s so much fun to cozy up inside and celebrate love all month long. Because of course, there’s no place that defines love better than home. This year, shake up your usual date night routine and spend Valentine’s Day right where you feel most comfortable! Take a look at a few fun ideas to celebrate the sweetest holiday of all from your Cornerstone home.

Setting table.

Things to Do at Home for Valentine’s Day

Dinner For Two: With brand new appliances to cook with and a spacious new kitchen, treating your sweetheart to a special, homemade meal is so much fun. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres at your kitchen island, then take the main course to your dining room. And if you like to feel fancy, dress up in something you’d wear out and create a five-star dining atmosphere right at home!

Light the Fire: When the sun goes down and the air gets chilly, there’s no better time to get cozy by the fireplace in your living room. Pair a nice bottle of wine with your favorite chocolates, and curl up under a fuzzy blanket together. There’s nothing more romantic than the embrace of a crackling fire at night.

Breakfast in Bed: Wake up to a little extra love! Enjoy eggs, bagels, and coffee from the comfort of your bed sheets before you start your day. Look into purchasing a bed tray table to keep your plates, silverware, and cups in place while you lounge and enjoy each other’s company.

Spa Day: Who says you have to leave home to enjoy the royal treatment of a spa? Step right into your retreat-like owner’s bath and let the pampering begin! Set the mood with scented candles, and enjoy a hot shower or relaxing bath along with a new face mask or body scrub for a little bit of added luxury.

Watching movie.

Movie Date: In your living room, relive teenhood memories of dates at the movies with classic movie theater popcorn, candy, and soda. This is also the perfect Valentine’s Day activity to share with grandkids! Switch out the romantic comedies for favorite cartoon classics like 101 Dalmations or Beauty and the Beast that the whole family can enjoy together.

Happy Hour: Head out to your covered patio or private courtyard with homemade cocktails to sip and savor as the sun goes down. (Use cranberry juice for a pink-colored drink, along with garnishes like grapefruit, raspberries, and strawberries.) Make sure to grab a blanket for extra warmth while you take in the beauty of the outdoors.

Get-Together with Friends: If you’d like to mark the occasion by celebrating with great friends, reserve some time at the clubhouse and bring finger sandwiches, chips and dip, and other party favorites, along with cards or board games, and make it a fun day for all to remember.

From all of us at Cornerstone Homes, we hope you enjoy a Valentine’s Day full of love!
