Date Night Delivers at Chickahominy Falls.

Last Saturday was a night to remember at the Date Night Cooking Class in The Barn at Chickahominy Falls. Where good old-fashioned Southern hospitality was being served up in beautiful style. Chef Jenny Tremblay West pulled out all the stops. Salmon Cakes with a lemon dill sauce, Winter Green Gratin (with greens straight from Woodside Farms!),  sautéed honey/cumin carrots, ( from The Farm fields) and a Salted Caramel Apple Galette. All served on fine china complemented by sunny pops of color from the fresh floral arrangements and, of course, our signature yellow farmhouse chairs.  But she didn’t do all the cooking.   It was a “cooking class” date night with homeowners rolling up their sleeves and getting in on the action.

Dick and Corlis, homeowners at Chickahominy Falls, have recently moved here from Wisconsin to be closer to their daughter and her family.   Here is what they had to say about this fun experience just steps from their front door:

“Saturday we attended the Valentine Date Night Cooking Class at The Barn. It was our first Public Event there.  An intimate group of 8 couples enabled us to actively participate in the food prep stations lead by Chef Jenny.

Along with 2 other couples, we tackled the Salmon Cakes w Lemon Dill Sauce.   RJ (the new Woodside Farms Events Coordinator) provided the beautiful flowers & greenery ( some  of which were from the Farm) and created the beautiful table scape.   The gourmet experience was outstanding; however,  the diversity of the participants, the warm conversations and team support truly elevated the experience. We would highly recommend participating in this type of social, hands-on gourmet event should Woodside Farms offer again.  We left with full tummies and warm hearts.  It was fun to see how all 3 teams worked together to create such tasty food!”
