About the Instructor:

Julie Moon is a Registered Nurse who went on a personal health journey in 2012. She was pre-diabetic and had fibromyalgia. Believing so much in the program she followed to change her lifestyle, she became certified in low glycemic eating and creating healthy lifestyles. Working as an instructor for Hanover County Parks and Recreation, Julie taught a variety of nutrition and cooking classes geared toward diabetic clients and cancer survivors. She is the author of Over the Moon Low Glycemic Recipes, making every day foods healthier. Her recipes were developed for her church so they could offer a healthy option for their weekly dinners.

Julie is a certified instructor for therapeutic lymphedema exercises, group exercise and water aerobics, working for CrossRidge Retirement Community, American Family Fitness, and the Richmond YMCA. Her experience includes being a CPR trainer, an integrative wellness coach and an award winning speaker with Toastmasters. She has also been a featured chef at Manakin Manakin farmers market several times, highlighting farmers and vendors products in a variety of healthy dishes.
